STEM for Girls: unlocking confidence, creativity, and possibility

Dipamoni Kalita, a student from Chayygaon Champak Nagar Girls High School in Kamrup Rural, always had curiosity, but little exposure. Before joining STEM for Girls, her ideas felt bigger than the opportunities around her. The turning point came during the SFG ideathon. Encouraged to observe, imagine, and build, she looked at her mother struggling with back pain while washing clothes and thought, What if I could solve this? With cardboard, a small motor, a battery, and determination, Dipamoni built a working prototype of a mini washing machine. It wasn’t just a project, it was her first experience of creating something meaningful. The confidence she carries now tells the rest of the story. STEM for Girls didn’t just give her skills; it unlocked possibility. Today, Dipamoni stands as a young innovator who knows her ideas matter and that her potential has no limits.
