Across Northeast India, children continue to face risks such as child marriage, child labour, trafficking, abuse, neglect, and other forms of vulnerability. Addressing these challenges requires more than individual interventions; it calls for strong child protection systems, coordinated institutional responses, and active community participation. Gaps in awareness, early identification, service delivery, and coordination can leave vulnerable children without timely protection and support.
Our Child Safety Program was created in response to these challenges aligned with the objectives of Mission Vatsalya . Our approach centres on strengthening systems, empowering communities, and ensuring that child protection is a shared responsibility.
We work closely with the State Child Protection Society (SCPS), Department of Women and Child Development, District and Block administrations, Police, Government departments, Local Governance Institutions, VCDCs and community-based organisations. Together, we aim to build a more responsive, preventive, and accountable child protection ecosystem where risks are identified early, institutions work collaboratively, and communities play an active role in safeguarding children.
