Disaster Response
The Northeast witnesses floods almost every year and is classified as a high-risk zone, with frequent earthquakes adding to the devastation. The region represents nearly 10% of India’s flood-affected area, highlighting the urgent need for sustained disaster preparedness and response.
At NEAID, we respond with presence ensuring no community faces a crisis alone. Our interventions are guided by detailed assessments and close coordination with district administrations, PRI members, CSOs, and NSS volunteers. Every response is customized and structured around area identification, needs assessment, target group finalization, provision of items and services, and post-disaster rehabilitation.
What we have catalysed
- We deliver dry rations, WASH kits, sanitary supplies, and makeshift shelters.
- During the COVID-19 pandemic, our teams provided oxygen concentrators, PPE kits, medicines, and awareness campaigns to safeguard vulnerable populations.
- We mobilise youth groups, SHGs, and local volunteers to map vulnerable households, support the elderly, and to ensure no family slipped through the cracks.
- We provide post-disaster interventions that focus on rebuilding homes, temporary bamboo bridges, school WASH kits, livestock support, and community infrastructure.
By combining immediate relief with long-term rehabilitation, we strengthen resilient villages capable of withstanding future crises while helping families regain dignity and restart their lives.
